Name: Nancy Drew Door: Returning Submissive Canon: Nancy Drew Canon Point: 2x18 Age: 19 Appearance: Here! History: here! CR AU (Optional): Nancy was previously in the game. In order to keep her from having to repeat her adjusting to the city, I am going to keep those memories of the game. Most of her major cr from the game (Jon Snow, Mrs. Sheringham, Dean Winchester) has since left, but having experience as a submissive in the city will allow her to understand the system and how to participate in it. Personality: Positive Trait: Overall, Nancy is a great detective because she is brave and willing to take risks. When a mystery leads her into the darkness, she isn't afraid to follow it, even if that means accepting that ghosts are real (and haunting her). She'll do anything to help someone in trouble, and if it puts her in danger, she doesn't even hesitate. As a result, there are people in her world who are alive because of her. Her town sees her as a hero because she's constantly doing what she can to help them. This includes her assuming the Hudson family name so that she can control the estate's money and donate it to her biological family's victims. Negative Trait: One of Nancy's greatest strengths as a detective happens to be her top negative trait; she is suspicious of everyone around her. In general, Nancy wants to believe in her family and friends, but when the evidence leads her straight to them, she isn't afraid to question them. In Season 1, this leads to her father being arrested for a murder he didn't commit, because the evidence she had collected against him was discovered by the police. It's difficult for her to trust blindly because of her experiences; she knows most people are keeping secrets, and she makes it her job to uncover them. The result is that doesn't let people stay in her life without interrogating them once in a while. Her relationship with Nick ended because there wasn't enough trust between them, and it's often a sore point for her in her canon. Negative Trait: When someone lets Nancy down, she can be unforgiving of them and puts in emotional distance. She's done that with friendships before, but also with her two fathers when she feels they have disappointed her. When she uncovers her connection to Ryan Hudson, she doesn't initially give him a chance to have a relationship with her because she's decided that he's not someone she wants in her life. (To be fair though, their relationship evolves into a more father/daughter connection over time.) Nancy is often careful about who she lets in her life, so she holds them to high standards and is heartbroken when they let her down. As a result, she holds on to her pain. In a fight, she will immediately default to bringing up the flaws her friends have found in her; it's not that she thinks she's without flaws, it's that she's painfully aware. Negative Trait: Nancy is self-sacrificing. She'll take on pain so that others don't have to experience it. She is constantly risking her life to save her friends and family members, and even complete strangers. She seems very aware of the way that darkness seems to follow her, and carries some guilt for bringing it into the lives of her friends. She holds herself responsible for what happens to them and would do anything to keep them safe. This has included rescuing her friends and accidentally having a wraith hitchhike on her body and feed off of her repressed traumas. She suffers for wanting to help the people around her. If she doesn't look out for herself, it will get her killed someday. Powers and Abilities: Nancy is a normal human who does not have any supernatural powers or abilities. She does, however, come from a world where ghosts are real, and has performed rituals and seances in canon in order to connect with the dead or to help solve a mystery. It's not depicted as a special talent - anyone with the knowledge is able to perform these activities. Nancy's real talent is in solving mysteries and being perceptive. In canon, it is acknowledged that she started young, doing the police chief's job for him before she turned eighteen. After the death of her mother, she stopped for a while as she dealt with her grief - but she is capable and intelligent, and able to see what other people might miss. Personality: Nancy is a young detective who has shown a talent for solving mysteries since she was a child. While she is confident in her abilities and proud of the people who she's helped, there are certain ways that her skills have changed her outlook on the world. She is extremely guarded with the people around her and will always question whether or not she can trust someone who wants to get close to her. This seems to be the result of her work and catching people who were part of some terrible crimes; it's taught her to question everyone around her. Sometimes, this includes suspecting her family and friends of awful things, too.
When there is a case she's working, Nancy will go to great lengths to solve it. This has included making deals with angry spirits to help get the evidence she needs. She's described in canon as being relentless because she will exhaust herself working through every possible angle of a case. Between this behavior and her trust issues, it is hard for her to build successful connections with other people. Initially, she keeps everyone at a distance because she thinks that might hurt less when they let her down.
Nancy has also suffered a few very serious losses, and learned that her life wasn't exactly what she thought it was. When she was 18, her mother died. She was popular in high school, but her friends didn't seem to want to be around her once she became the girl with the dying mom. After that, she also gave up on her dreams of going to college. Eventually, she was haunted by a ghost who unraveled a secret about her family that changed Nancy's life forever. It has caused her to question who she's supposed to be.
Nancy is someone who tries to be a good person, and who seemed to have a set path that she intended to go down in life to find success. In the past year or so, she's learned her biological parents aren't who she thought they were and that she's related to a powerful family in Horseshoe Bay. She spends a lot of time trying to separate who she has become from who she used to be, and who her family might've wanted her to be. She worries that she is the worst parts of her family, while constantly fighting to protect her friends and family from the darker side of their town.
To anyone who can get past all of this (and survive it), Nancy is a good friend, a skilled detective, and someone who never gives up on helping people. She takes risks - probably too many of them, and usually ends up in danger during her pursuit of the truth. But, Nancy is also the person who would give her life to save someone she cares about, and usually ends up carrying the weight of the world on her shoulders. She's good under pressure and fights past her fears, but her suffering has become a part of her.
Underneath all of this, she's still a young woman who wants the comfort of ordering a pizza with her friends or sitting between her dads on the couch and watching movies. She's learning that even her traumas have made her stronger. Overall, Nancy just wants to be a good person and to keep the people she loves safe. It's just increasingly difficult to do that when her town is full of unsolved mysteries and angry spirits, and things always get worse before they get better.
Weaknesses/Temptations: - An organization called The Road Back killed her biological grandmother for helping her. Nancy would like to know more about them and how to bring them to justice.
- While Nancy's bio-mom has haunted her, her adopted mom hasn't. She'd like to know what happened to Kate Drew's spirit.
- Nancy struggles with thought that much of her bio-family has a long history of being terrible. She worries that she's going to end up making similarly dark and selfish choices.
- Family/friends - she would do anything to keep them safe.
- She would like to know how to stop the evil parts of her family (The Hudsons).
- Though she rarely admits it, some part of her misses the days before she knew ghosts were real. She liked who she was when her mom was alive, when she was planning on going to college, when she was just a popular, friendly girl.

This leads to her father being arrested for a murder he didn't commit, because the evidence she had collected against him was discovered by the police. It's difficult for her to trust blindly because of her experiences; she knows most people are keeping secrets, and she makes it her job to uncover them. The result is that Nancy doesn't let people stay in her life without interrogating them once in a while. She is also determined to uncover the truth at all costs. This is a trait that is both positive and negative. It is positive when she's helping someone who needs it, but negative because her determination also causes her to go too far. For example, when Nancy needs to find Lucy Sable's bones, she turns to the Agleaca knowing that she will have to pay the toll. When the toll marks Owen Marvin for death, she tries to get away with not paying it - but maybe someone less desperate wouldn't have gone that far in the first place. When Nancy is connected to a case, sometimes her determination becomes desperation and she has to suffer the consequences. This is also true of her efforts to find Lucy Sable's missing journal. Even when chasing after Lucy's ghost was dangerous, Nancy believed that she had to and kept going. She's so eager to find answers that she doesn't know when to stop. When someone lets Nancy down, she isn't very forgiving of them and puts in emotional distance. She's done that with friendships before, but also blames Carson for not telling her everything he knew about Lucy Sable's death and wants to leave town with Owen Marvin (so that she doesn't have to see him for a while). When she uncovers her connection to Ryan Hudson, she doesn't even give him a chance to have a relationship with her because she's decided that he's not someone she wants in her life.
